Salem Apple Butter Festival

Watch apple butter being made outside in open copper kettles over crackling wood fires. Canned on the spot to take home. Enjoy live entertainment daily, food, crafts, parade, quilt show, 5K run, car show, celebrity auction, pet parade, talent show, bicycle poker ride, apple butter and apple pie contests.  Bridge Day

Visitors come to the New River Gorge Bridge Day Festival from all over the world!  Browse through 180 vendors to find the perfect souvenir.  Food vendors line along the bridge.  Bridge Day is the largest extreme sports event in the world and is held on the third Saturday in October every year in Fayette County, West Virginia (WV), USA. Hundreds of BASE jumpers and nearly 80,000 spectators are expected to attend this year's Bridge Day on Saturday, October 18, 2008. The New River Gorge Bridge, 876' tall and the world's second longest single arch bridge, serves as the launch point for six hours (9am-3pm EST) of safe, legal BASE jumps.
